International Gathering in Bangkok (Sept. 09)

Almost five years after the december 2004 tsunami that killed nearly 300,000 people in South East Asia, about 100 leading experts gather together in Bangkok, Thailand to discuss the lessons learned and the way forward with top officials of the region’s government.

This is the 2nd Conference organised under the auspices of the OECD International Network on the Financial Management of Large-scale Catastrophes (“OECD Network”) took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 24-25 September 2009. This international event was sponsored by the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) of Thailand and the Government of Japan.
